Zhao Ran (b.2002) Alaia studied Media and film studies at Columbia University as an undergraduate and is currently pursuing an arts degree at New York University. She is an interdisciplinary artist specializing in filmmaking, fine arts, sound arts, and technologically driven designs.

She describes herself as a polyp in the sea, constantly in conflict with the inherent form of the world in her self-exploration, but closely connected with the ecology of her home; In her vision, everything is fluid; She has been wandering and jumping repeatedly in her hometown and various coordinates since she was a child, which makes her have a sense of distance and drifting from home and the outside world virtually. This sense of drift has influenced her lens language and installation artworks, and made her constantly explore the interior in the process of artistic creation, seeking the link between women's first perspective and the outside society; In her visual images and art installations, she uses female flow and intimate relationship as the core language, and uses cool colors and distant shots to reflect a wandering aesthetic. In her writing, she is good at linking life with nature and philosophy. She describes the sensitivity of the world and everything with sharp words, recording people's longing for love and beauty and their helpless alienation.
